Crawllr App Wireframe and Logo

I was approached by a student at the College of William & Mary to help his team create a logo and initial wireframe for his new mobile app. I began with pencil sketches before receiving feedback from the Crawllr team about what design they liked. I then refined and created a digital version of the app icon in Illustrator, which is the current icon. Then, the Crawllr team asked me to mock up a wireframe for their app in Figma, which I first used for this project. The main challenge was keeping simplicity and clarity at the forefront of the decisions I made. Here is a link for more details.

After talking to the Crawllr team about what they wanted to see in their app icon, I mocked up 15 different versions on paper.

I began to work in Illustrator based on the feedback I received. They wanted to see mockups of a crab icon and then some icons with just the “C”.

After finalizing which “C” to go with, the team wanted multiple color options, which I provided in this file. They then selected which option the liked the best and used that for their app icon.

For the wireframe, I began with the welcome page and experimented with fonts.

I then came up with options for the login screen and the main explore page.

I finally came up with ideas for the “start crawl”, “create crawl”, community, and profile screens.
